Lori Essenberg

​​Biography
This is my 31st year of teaching and my 28th in CCSD. I have taught pre-school through 5th grade. I was born in Brooklyn, New York. When I was 6 my family moved to London, England where we lived for the next 10 years. I attended a British Public all Girls School, Maltman's Green for 7 years, and then a Department of Defense School, London Central for 3 years. My family returned to the USA and lived in Northern Virginia and then we moved to SC. After graduating from Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant I returned to England to attend Park Farm School of Riding. After earning certification by the British Horse Society as a riding instructor I returned to the USA and attend Plymouth State College. During college I taught horse riding and snow skiing. My first two years of teaching I taught at the Fleming School, a French/American school in New York City. In 1989 I moved  back to Charleston, SC where I have taught at Memminger Elementary School, Murray-LaSaine Elementary School and now Sullivan's Island Elementary School.
